Criss Angels Masterminds 3 is a demonstration and explanation of McDonald’s Aces.
The DVD is first class and the editing and videography is first class. You are also supplied with the gimmick cards needed for the trick.
Let’s get this out of the way first: It’s Criss Angel. If you dislike him, this DVD will not change your mind. If you like him, you will still like him.
Who is this DVD aimed at, I’m not sure. I would think . . . his fans and not necessarily students of magic. Although the teaching (done by Joe Monti) of the trick is outstanding. This DVD is heavily slanted towards Criss Angel’s marketing and branding. Criss even states, McDonald’s Aces are now know as MF Aces.
What you get is a video of Criss performing this as he did on his show “Mind Freak”. After that Joe Monti does a very good explanation of the effect.
Bottom line. If you are a Criss Angel fan you will very much enjoy this DVD. If you are a serious student of magic, search out the references to the original trick and some of the variations and work done with this outstanding piece of magic.
