Cody's Comedy Confabulation

(Based on 3 reviews)
This is one of the most clean, direct, and easy 'real time predictions' you will ever perform. Perfect for the stand up or stage performer. A GREAT routine for comedy magicians looking for an impossible prediction or for more serious mentalists looking to add some comedy to their show without sacrificing an impossible effect!
So what makes this routine so funny? Well, Cody has come up with a very clever presentational plot that perfectly hides the "method". Also, the final prediction is actually pretty funny and is written in such a way that you may even get a BIG TIP and a STANDING OVATION!
In this booklet you will learn the version Cody currently performs in his stand up show along with several variations suggested by other full time pros. This is truly a packs flat / plays big routine that requires no assistants, no messy carbon, and no double writing. This is NOT one of those confabulation effects that take place throughout the entire show or during the course of several effects...The prediction occurs in REAL TIME!
Nothing has been left out. You are not merely buying a 'trick' or an 'idea' but rather a complete routine with all the kinks worked out. Cody even tips the music he uses in order to make this routine play in the biggest of theatres.
If you are looking for a real time prediction that is fun, entertaining, and engages the audience, then look no further!

This has already received two five star reviews so a lot of people really like it. I am, therefore, appointing myself as the voice of reason.
Cody’s Comedy Confabulation is a well structured routine that has clearly been performed a lot in the real world. The bad news is that it is based around a sequence of hideously overused and clichéd gags that are already in the act of every other hack magician in the world. These gags are not optional; they are absolutely integral to the routine. If you are not the sort of performer who wants to inflict tired old gags on your audience, and I very much hope that you are not, then you are not going to be able to perform this without scrapping the whole routine and starting again from scratch.
For an audience that has never seen a live magician before, this would probably get a great response. But if you work cruise ships, comedy clubs, or any other type of venue where there are lots of other magicians on the same circuit, then you simply can’t afford for the booker to see you delivering the same old standard gags that she’s already heard from countless other unoriginal magicians.
If you are skilled at writing your own original gags then you could probably come up with some alternative jokes that would fit the format of the routine, but you are mainly paying for the presentation here, so it is difficult to see why a performer with that sort of comedy writing talent would need to buy this.

DonB! has pretty much summed up how I feel about this booklet. It rocks.
Cody really gives you a complete routine, music, script, method . . . and a very clever method at that.
Up front I will say that for those looking for a serious piece of mentalism . . . this is not it. This is a comedic and entertaining one. However, if comedy is not your thing, the method is still worth looking into.
Outstanding!

NOTE: I own the eBook version, so I am unable to comment on the printed copy.
This item from Cody is great! He takes the confabulation routine and does some great things with it.
First, he infuses some great comedy. Are they "standard gags"? Yes, but they work well in this routine. Cody also utilizes those comedy lines to cover for any dirty work that takes place. YOU NEVER HAVE TO DOUBLE WRITE ANYTHING.
The way that this is presented, the audience can truly believe you are pulling their leg as you string them along with some gag predictions and revelations. However, when you are done playing around with the audience, the dirty work has already been taken care of and ready for the final blow-off.
You reach into your pocket/wallet/envelope/whatever you want to use, and remove a note that was written last night. An audience volunteer can read it (no covering of words, no double speak), and it actually has predictions on it that the audience chose moments before. Plus, there is no gimmick to the note. Your audience member can keep it, with nothing strange to find about it.
This manuscript fits my own performing personality quite well, in that it mixes comedy (and you can modify any of the information to fit your audience or performing style) and mentalism. That combination is very hard to find.
Cody has done it, and done it well.
PS- No special magic props are necessary for this routine. A pad of paper and a Sharpie marker, plus however you want to reveal your prediction at the end.
