Examining The Thumbtip

Alexander DeCova

(Based on 1 review)
"I have persuaded Bavarian magician Alexander de Cova to finally release his work on the thumbtip. This is like nothing you have ever seen before. I promise his innovative handling of this tool will astound you."
-Martin Lewis

First Alex performs and explains three original routines, each of which is not only a lesson in the use of a thumbtip, but a world class effect to boot.

Finally he explains his deceptively simple "Three Point Theory" and discusses in depth the logic, reasons and methods, that will change how you see the thumbtip.

Rosediction
In this presentation for platform or stage a romantic prediction leaves the audience both mystified and charmed.

The Scottish Purse
Great fun as a spectator tries to draw your portrait, only to find the artwork vanishes from under their nose!

Vitamin E
A prescription for mystery. This bill to sealed bottle is so beautifully crafted it will make you want to do it just for the sheer pleasure.

Running Time Approximately 55min

The thing that I am learning to dislike about doing product reviews is that I must share these great products with you, when I would rather hoard them for myself. That said...

Don't pass up "Examining the Thumbtip"!

The discussion portion of this DVD is one of the most valuable resources you can own on thumbtip theory.

HUH? Theory? Thumbtip?

Yes. Theory. Thumbtip.

In our pursuit for the next great magic effect we forget about the simpler things in our magical world. The thumbtip is the perfect example of a prop that we misuse or fail to explore the full potential of. Fortunately there are people like Alexander de Cova who remind us that there is still MAGIC in in something as simple and overlooked as the thumbtip.

If you are currently using a thumbtip, thinking about using a thumbtip or thinking about doing magic for living breathing human beings, you should own this DVD. Okay not just own it. You should sit down and watch it as well.

Alexander de Cova presents his ideas on how and why to handle the thumbtip. He performs and explains three original effects. Rosediction is an elegant and baffling prediction effect. The Scottish Purse is a very commercial piece of magic that will really surprise your audience and Vitamin E fooled the pants off of me!

All of the effects on this DVD are wonderful as they are. But I can see potential for each of us to customize these ideas to suit our own performing style. I think de Cova's real gift is in discovering practical and very deceptive methods for creating very magical effects.

If you own the Patrick Page Thumtip DVD, this will make a GREAT addition.
