This is quite simply an excellent DVD with moderate to medium difficulty effects that are taught very well by Allan Ackerman. The combination of the 2 vidoes (Every Move and LV Card Expert) makes for a tremendous value.

A few words about Allan Ackerman, whom I've personally met. He is somewhat shy but friendly person with a great sense of crafting a series of moves into a tight routine. The full measure of his scholarship in cards can only be seen in reading all of his lecture notes and observing how he revisits his early construciton of some routines to tighten them up in later years.

CARD EXPERT DVD. Most of the routines on this Segment of the DVD can be found in written form in Alan's larges book, Kardma, (A-1 Multimedia ). On the DVD, there are a few modifications to the written version of some effects, but most stay very close to his original handling. Easier effects include Marlo Double Brainwave Update, Mixed UP Blues (an Oil and Water sequence, Gemini Mates and Change of Mind (an introduction of the 4 aces through a short effect that doesn't remotely start out as an Ace effect).
Of greater difficulty are 76 Collectors, Sectator Cuts Double, Quick Coincidence and Impromtu Ultra Mental. Of highest difficulty are Vanishing Aces, Reassembled Finale, Ackerman's Opener , and Impromtu Paul Fox, the latter two using the Faro Shuffle.

A strength of many of these is the ability to go into them without a significant set up, or one that is easily culled to in a short time. 76 Collectors is a fine 2 spectator effect. Vanishing Aces is one of my favorite routines because one starts and finishes with the 4 aces and each vanishes and returns in a different fashion that leaves reconstruction almost impossible to achieve.

EVER MOVE. This segment of the DVD is mostly the teaching of some moves, with one signficant effect: Revisiting the Card Case collectors. Revisiting is Allan's take on the collectors theme, although his routine features a double collection. Most of the moves are helpful, and Allan's fix of the Kelly move is excellent for those who love that control The AB Bottom Palm (from a shuffle) and Swing Cut Bottom palm are very handy moves to have that represent, with nods to Marlo, Action Palms that happen while the spectator is watching something else take place One feature is Allan's Kosy Kut, a multiple packet false cut that will fool you even after you learn it. This segment ends with some thoughts by Allan on the Zarrow shuffle (good), on sleights themselves (very good) and few anecdotes of sessions with Ed Marlo (also very good).

The good news is that almost none of Allan's routines has become pedestrian by being featured on the Easy To Master series, which is largely because his routines aren't all that easy. This is a blessing because, once learned, you have something unique in your card arsenal that not everyone else uses. Highly recommended.
