Psychic Mystery Watch

Mike Bornstein

(Based on 1 review)
Mike Bornstein's original Psychic Mystery Watch stops the show with an unbelievable card revelation. The perfect card revelation for mentalists and magicians.
Have a spectator select a card, then concentrate on the image of it in his mind. Pull back your sleeve to show a beautiful slim goldtone Movado style wristwatch with a black face. Take the watch off your wrist and give it to another spectator to hold. The spectator is told to stare into the watch's face, pretending it is a crystal ball, and see if she can visualize the name of the thought of card.

As chosen card revelations go-and there are ALOT of them-I rate this as one of the classier, and more memorable ones. It takes the concept of crystal ball gazing to a tangible end, by capitalizing on the mechanism of a wristwatch. It's a beautiful thing to see the image appear, and then fade away.
The watch itself is nicely made-it could be worn and used as an everyday watch, but you can't turn off the fade. Also, you need to have sleeves on when using it, for the same reasons. Now, I don't currently own this watch-I had one years ago and lost it during my move to Kansas City. It's on my wish list though, and I currently use other novel ways to reveal cards. If memory serves me, you don't have the option to change card images on the watch. Which means getting more than one, or, using other means of revelation for other performances. I love Bornstein's effects-and had the privilege of speaking with him over the phone when I was in Florida. Like talking with an uncle-friendly, and extremely helpful. His effects were so strong, and were very reasonably priced. This I think was one of his gems, and has undoubtedly taken on collector's item status. Well presented, it's a reliable audience pleaser, and I think one of the finest props that any magician could own.
