Overview
It’s a tale about cheating at cards. Actually a cheating card convention. With the special card included the magic is easy and happens quickly. It is one of the best poker tricks around, but you can’t hand out the cards.Effect
See the ad copy below for the effect. You show two hands of cards that both start out as a pair of aces and eights. When the cards are shown one at a time the hand improve in turn. First the cards turn into 4 aces. Then they morph into a straight flush. Then the final reveal show one hand to be a royal flush.Method
You get specially printed cards that help you make the magic happen. There is no sleight of hand, just phases and handling the cards on a certain way. You need to learn where to put each card and when. The specially printed cards are not something a magicians has not seen before. It’s the thinking on how to put it all together that is great.Product Quality
The cards are standard bikes and standard bike quality gaffs. The handwritten instructions are good and clear except there is a step that is not fully explained on how to accomplish in detail ie how to display certain cards and not others.Ad Copy Integrity
The ad copy is below and it is all good.David Solomon has created the poker deal to beat all poker deals! Hocus Poker is an ingenious "contest" staged at world famous "Cheater's Convention." In the finals, Chicago Eddie and Detroid Fats are each dealt a hand of aces and eights, the "Dead Man's Hand"! Each player then gets a shot at cheating. Eddie secretly steals two aces from Fats, giving him four aces. Fats then shows his hand to be a straight flush, showing each card front and back! Eddie, not to be outdone, changes his hand into a royal flush to win the competition.
