Magic Of David Regal Volumes 1 - 3

Regal, David

L & L Publishing

(Based on 1 review)
David Regal, when he isn't writing for television shows like Rugrats and Everybody Loves Raymond, creates diabolical magic. And, on these three new videos. David performs and then teaches killer effects from his Magic Castle act as well as his best-selling books. The 36 close-up items taught on these three tapes are capable of fooling well-posted magicians, yet are exceedingly entertaining to laypeople. What's more, because of David's singular and sometimes unusual methodology, almost all of the effects are surprisingly easy to perform. First, you'll be entertained and fooled along with the studio audience and then delighted as David takes you behind the scenes and shows you the extremely clever workings of his magic. More amazing them an Elvis sighting, these three new videos are your chance to get really close-up and personal with the star-quality magic of David Regal.

I will admit it. I did not know of David Regal before this DVD set was availible. I have had an epiphany because of them, however. I think this is the strongest material to be released in the last year. There are several effects that have been updated and improved from David's Book "Star Quality", which is out of print and very difficult to obtain. DVD 1 starts with a great effect "Deja Vu" deck which is powerful and self working allowing the magician to "size up " the audience. It leads to the more difficult "Every Where" where a selected card keeps appearing over and over until a spectacular climax. There is, also. "Pasteboard Massacre". This is, without a doubt, the most unusual cutting the deck routine ever. DVD 2 has David's Cups and Balls routines which is truly revolutionary. It actually gives a reason for all of this magic to occur. It is really a delightful story as well. DVD 3 depicts several effects that are classics and are given the "Regal" touch i.e. Travellers, Out of this World, etc.
This set of DVD's is worth far more than the asking price. It defines a "Must Have". I would suggest keeping it quiet, however. This material is too good to let it be known.
