Upon meeting a spectator, the performer asks the spectator to write their name on a file card. The file card is burned with a lighter and allowed to burn to ashes in an ashtray. The performer gathers a handful of these ashes and rubs them into his forearm. As the ashes spread over the performer's arm, the name of the spectator is revealed!!!

Overview
The “Ashes on the Arm” effect has been used in magic, mentalism and bizarre magic for time immemorial. The “creators” of this product cleverly worded their product to allude you into thinking that this is some superior method to achieve this effect. I suggest you read on.After paying $15 for Ash Pen Pro….you will certainly feel like an ash for wasting your money. There is so much misleading information that I don’t know where to start. First, this is not a “Pen” it is a stick of wax with a point. The word pen, denotes some form of housing or retainer, there is none. The word “Pro” denotes some form of advanced material, method or it being superior to ordinary wax, it is not. This is just 3 grams of wax the thickness and length of a golf pencil. As far as instructions, the link doesn’t work.
