This gives a visual way to penetrate the two rubber bands.
I use it as a finale for my rubber band routine and it kills, the audience has no idea of how it’s that visual and they love it a lot.

Overview

Two rubberbands penetrate through each other and the spectators view the performer defy the laws of physics.

So this has gotten alot of hype and in my opinion, which many disagree, this does not live up to the hype.

I think that this is a good quickie routine, but its just not for me. Years ago when crazy man's handcuffs was all the rage, I too didn't love that so consider that when reading this review. I think many people will love this - I am not a disciple.

The ability to astonish with this trick depends on your handling of the bands, the angle you are to your spectator and a small amount of practice. This is not tough to learn or perform.

IMHO this looks better on social media than in person. I am absolutely positive many people will buy into the hype and disagree with me - but that's what makes horseraces!

This trick actually reminds me of a trick with wine corks that penetrated one another that I have been doing for 30 years. Its the same basic concept, but I would never have been able to apply it to rubberbands myself.

Effect

The performer takes two rubberbands, one in each hand, and right in front of the spectator's eyes the bands go through one another. A quickie routine and your done.

Method

The method is a handling that depends on how you hold the rubberbands and required a bit of sleight of hand. Not too bad at all.

Product Quality

In a nice small box you get (or I got) 21 Rindfleisch colored rubber bands (which are great) and there are 9 different colors. I also got 2 special rubber bands that when let go form a special shape - a star and a ding dong. There is no explanation for how these are to be used, but you can figure that our with some creativity.

The instructional video is about 40 minutes long and features the creator, Hanson Chien and even Nicholas Lawrence with his take on the routine, but using playing cards. The video is well taught and English is dubbed in. The video is good because it uses an over the should POV several times.

The quality is excellent.

Ad Copy Integrity

Hanson Chien quotes himself saying that it is a "revolution" - I do not agree.

This is for some people, just not for me.

Overview

I confess, I am spatially challenged. I have never been successful at learning, let alone performing rubber band magic. Perhaps I cannot follow the simultaneous moves of the different fingers or maybe I have a mental block for this type of magic. Whatever the cause, I was never successful at it. Crazy Sam’s Handcuffs is the first rubber band routine I was able to follow along and be somewhat successful at handling the bands. Now, that is saying a lot.

Effect

Crazy Sam’s Handcuffs is a three phase linking rubber band routine that doesn’t require the finger calisthenics that most rubber band effects require. The rubber bands truly look as if one is penetrating through the other. Similar in appearance to the iconic Crazy Man’s Handcuffs created by Arthur Setterington in 1970, Crazy Sam’s Handcuffs has one advantage over the original routine which is the linking and unlinking appears to happen in both directions.

Method

Like any other rubber band effect, the method and plausibility lies not just with the handling of the bands but also with the fluidity one performs with. Your hands should move as if they are ballerinas in a ballet. Subtlety, grace and precision are key to any rubber band routine.

Product Quality

What you will receive for your investment will be a small box. In the box will be a bag of about 2 dozen Joe Rindfleisch rubber bands in various colors, another small package of 2 rubber bands from other effects sold by Hanson Chien (one not appropriate for children…think Goshman Ding Dong) and the link to the training video. The rubber bands are Rindfleish’s, so obviously they are of superb quality. What you are really paying for is the handling. The video instruction is very well done. It is dubbed in English for some and it seems as if they are actually speaking in English in other parts. The instruction runs for 40 minutes and is broken up into sections. As you pass your cursor over the time line you can easily select to portion you want to watch or review.

Ad Copy Integrity

What is claimed in the ad is what you get. Segments of the original Facebook posts and the reactions of rubber band masters are real. The bands themselves, when done properly, do seem as if they are melting right through each other. This is not an effect that you can purchase one day and perform the next. You will need to dedicate some time to the logistics and subtleties that will sell this effect.

Final Thoughts

A very nice effect if you dedicate the time to learn. As stated, all you need are two rubber bands and you have a magic routine at your fingertips, literally.
