Overview
Magician’s Insurance Policy by Paul Gordon is a cute gag routine which will allow you to toy with your spectators and have some fun. The versatility of the prop permits you to exercise your creativity but yet is flexible enough to change the flow of the trick every time you use it. In addition to its limitless potential, it sets the tone as to what kind of performer you are. You are hip, funny and playful, which is why you will be hired over and over again.Effect
A spectator chooses a card; it can be a force or a free choice. The performer says he’ll find the card and takes out of his wallet, a plastic credit card sized version of the old “is your card here” gag. While they are somewhat amused, they are directed to turn the card around. On the other side the card instructs to look at the bottom of your shoe in a clever way. On the bottom of your shoe is another instruction as to where their card is. From this point on, the trick can go in any direction you want.Method
The method is the old Magician’s Insurance Policy but with a modern twist. Printed on heavy plastic and sized conveniently for your wallet, this utility item will allow you to make their chosen card appear wherever you want, within reason. The handling can be as simple or as complex as you wish. The routine is limited only by your imagination. This is not ground breaking magic but a nice intro piece to get the spectators to know you and get comfortable with you as a performer. This can only help you make others comfortable and not feel afraid to participate. Product Quality
The card is made with the same quality as any credit or gift card is made. Virtually indestructible, the card should last forever. The card is sized to fit any wallet a credit card would fit and is a good opener for a walk around set. The instructional video is 6 minutes and 30 seconds long. The basic premise is discussed and Paul Gordon leaves you with a handful of options. There is no real handling of the card itself, the card is merely a diversionary tactic for you to place the chosen card somewhere. There are no routines provided because the method and trick is simple.Ad Copy Integrity
Everything stated about the product is accurate. If you are at all familiar with the old Insurance Policy gag, you will know how bulky and limited it was. Although not revolutionary, it is incredibly portable and way more versatile. Final Thoughts
If you want to create a light hearted and fun experience on the outset when you approach a group, this is definitely a handy item to have in your arsenal.
