Overview

Dealing With It (season 2) is one of a series of DVDs by John Bannon and Big Blind Media (BBM) obviously called Dealing With It. Anything produced by Bannon and BBM leaves little doubt as to whether it is a worthwhile purchase or not, it’s got to be good because it is John Bannon. D.W.I.2 is a collection of reconfigured pieces created in the past by such notables as Nick Trost, Alex Elmsley and others. True to Bannon’s style he simplified the methods and the presentations and creates card magic that is easy to do, easily understood and can be done with an ordinary deck.

Effect

D.W.I. 2 features six card effects that can be done with an ordinary deck. Bannon took tricks from other creators and simplified the methods and the presentations. For example, there is a Chicago Opener style effect without having to carry an odd backed card. Another effect was redone to eliminate a half-pass.

Method

The card magic on this DVD set requires minimal skills. A couple of additional items will be needed to perform two of the tricks. You will need to have a Post-It Note® with a word written on it and a breather crimp to ring in for a couple of the effects. One trick requires a setup but that can be your opener. Only basic card skills are required which is the hallmark of Bannon’s style.

Product Quality

BBM has really raised the bar when it comes to producing DVDs. The filming nears Hollywood style quality. The photography, set, lighting and editing are all superb. It is obvious they have invested in high end equipment and expended a great deal of time in the editing stages. As expected, Bannon’s explanations are complete with no superfluous talk. His pacing for the trick and the explanations are fantastic.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is succinct and accurate. Included on the DVD are two bonuses which are handlings called The JB Double Lift and Flipside Assembly. Anything produced by John Bannon is a worthwhile investment. If you want quality and uncomplicated card magic which will not tax your skill set, check out the Dealing With It series or even Move Zero, you can’t go wrong.
