NU FLASH

(Based on 1 review)
One of the most visual bill effects you can ever do.

Imagine -- your spectator signs a card, it is returned to the deck, and the deck is shuffled. You take a $100 bill out of your pocket and, magically, you transform the bill into the signed card! The best part is that the spectator can examine this card and keep it as a souvenir!

There are many variations that you can do with NU FLASH -- you can visually transform a bill into a deck, envelope, named card, prediction etc.

This effect works with any currency, and it's very easy to customize.

Overview

OK -- so, let's get into this. Here, you must remember: as a reviewer, I have to look at and comment on the ENTIRETY of a product, as I receive it. That said, we have a packaged DVD, with a gimmicked card included. The gimmicked card isn't 100% of what would be needed, but it puts you about 85% there. It is pretty solid and clean all around. One funny (but quite annoying) thing about the DVD is that it lists all of the 'sections/chapters' on the Main Menu -- but the text doesn't change colors as you arrow down. So, it's just a crap shoot as far as what segment you are about to watch. I am starting by giving this 2 rock solid stars, because it looks awesome -- a real keeper through-and-through. Not only that, but the creator and producer end up tipping an extra trick where a bill also changes into a small envelope -- many possibilities exist there. They also chat about other possibilities as well -- some smart ideas.
However, along the lines of them 'chatting' -- I have totally no problems with creators discussing ancillary ideas about a trick etc. -- that is fine. However, in the fundamental explanation of the trick, they did too much chatting and did a poor job of really explaining how to perform the trick. It was totally not scripted and they glanced at each other SO MUCH, that was readily apparent. Exceedingly poor planning. Never mind the fact that they played music over EVERY SINGLE SEGMENT of this video -- and I mean EVERY SEGMENT. It was also too loud and: why did they play the exact same loop of music for every single segment? For these 2 issues, I am taking away a star, for sure.
You really get instructions for 2 separate effects here (which is nice) -- but the delivery/production value is poor. The arts and crafts section is pretty good, but the speaker's volume is often horribly drowned out by the music playing. The included card is a nice touch and I totally want to work this effect up in my repertoire, but this whole project needed some proper supervision. I am writing this in November 2024, and this DVD is quite hard to find now, but if you see it for a low price -- pick it up. Just be patient as you try to learn from it. Because the 2 effects are so darned good, that puts me in a generous mood.

Effect

Quick as a wink: A bill changes into a card! Looks fantastic!

Method

So, this is one of those 'arts and crafts' tricks where you do some clever stuff to a card/bill. The packaged DVD comes with a gimmicked card to start you off.

Product Quality

The packaging and the pre-made gimmicked card are fine -- the lighting and camera work on the DVD is good. However, the music is FAR TOO LOUD!

Ad Copy Integrity

This is solid -- the ad copy (seen on various dealer sites) and found on the DVD pretty much give you what it promises.

Final Thoughts

Exceedingly visual and the sleight(s) is not too awfully challenging.
