Silk Thru Phone

Super visual, strong impact, and practical!
Effect:
The magician borrows a smart phone from a spectator. He then rubs the silk on the center of the screen and suddenly the silk starts penetrating through the smart phone.
Eventually the silk penetrates all the way through the smart phone
The smart phone is immediately returned to the spectator for examination, however, (of course) there is no slit or secret hole at all!
Super visual yet easy to do. Plus, this miracle can even happen with a borrowed smart phone!
Includes:
- A special gimmick
- 18" (45cm) red silk
- Video download link

Obviously you know by the title of the trick Silk Thru Phone by Jeimin Lee, that it is a penetration effect of a silk thru a phone. If you like these kind of effects I'm sure you will like this one. The effect is not limited to phones however. Phones are readily available and relatively easy to handle but this can be done with water bottles, playing cards or anything your sized hand can accommodate. What you receive is a 18" silk, a gimmick to create the effect and online instructions.
The silk is an ordinary silk and and far as silks go I see nothing wrong with the silk provided. The edges are nice and tight and should not impede the performance. Since it is a regular silk, it can be used in a prior effect or a routine afterwards that may require a silk.
The gimmick provided is small and thin. I would have liked to have seen it slightly thicker because if handled roughly I can foresee it breaking. That in itself is really no major issue because if that does happen you can make one yourself using this original as a template.
The video download is shot is the creator's home and there is a lot of background noise such as people talking and kids screaming. The creator first speaks in Korean, and the translator is translating in Chinese and then he repeats himself in broken and mispronounced English. You will have to sit through the explanation in three languages to get the concept. This may seem confusing but after a second viewing you'll get the idea of how it all works.
If you are looking for a quick "surprise" kind of trick without much fanfare give this one a go. The props are nearly weightless, take up little pocket space and props such as phones are available no matter where you go.
