PROS
This is a a really nice looking effect where four bills appear to shrink in size. One amazing thing about this routine is it involves no gimmicks. It uses just five ordinary bills. The effect is really a very clever handling of several moves that very cleanly make it look like four bills are shrinking in size. The bills are then handed out as normal bills and you are left totally clean.
The method is a bit challenging, and it will take some practice. I wouldn’t consider this a beginner routine. I would say this is more intermediate to advanced. I would lean more toward advanced as the effect will look most magical depending upon the amount of practice and skill you have with this presentation.
The instruction is very thorough, covering not only the moves, but also what bills are better to use. You can use your own five bills or borrowed bills. There are both live performances and studio performances.
The routine is true to the ad copy. The ad copy says it is an impromptu effect with five regular bills, and that is exactly what it is.
CONS
The method is good. It could be angle sensitive, depending upon how you present the effect. If your presentation invites spectators to burn your every move, then you should have your spectators pretty much directly in front of you. If your presentation involves a bit of misdirection, then you might be able to get away with being totally surrounded. However, it is going to take practice and more advanced skill.
While this is not a beginner level effect, I would think that anyone capable of learning sleights could learn to do this, but you will need to put in some level of practice. The moves are not knuckle busting, but must be performed well enough to make it look magical. I also think that your performance and audience management skills will come into play.
As they say in the DVD, it is best to perform this with paper based bills.
VERDICT
This is really a very nice routine! The method is good and it uses just five regular bills. It will take some time to practice and perfect this.
