Incarnation Review

One System, one DVD, one Hundred dollars and one Incarnation Review. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

Incarnation Review: Effect

Three main effects are possible with this system. First, the visual appearance of a playing card on a bull dog clip. Second, any named (free selection) card is shown to be the card on the clip that has been in full view from the beginning. Third, spectator "selects" a card and thinks of their zodiac sign. The card in the bull dog clip is shown to be their "selection" with their zodiac sign on the face of the card.

Incarnation Review: Method

The method relies on two extremely clever and super easy to use gimmicks. First is the bull dog clip. It just works itself. Hold the clip up in the air, and poof! A card appears clipped in it. It's so easy, so visual and 100% reliable.

The second gimmick is the included notepad. It's an index that allows you to have instant access to every single card in the deck and all twelve zodiac signs without having to have a 64 billet (52 cards and 12 zodiac signs) index. The notepad fits neatly in your shirt pocket and has a super clever something I won't tell you about that lets you have access to the all of the possible predictions almost instantly and very cleanly.

This is truly one of the most clever systems I've seen in a long time. It's something you can start doing almost immediately and works extremely well and is 100% reliable. Further, the clip alone has many applications for other routines. You can use it for effects like Sankey's Paperclipped. Any kind of routine where you need to show a playing card clipped in plain view, and then you want to be able to switch the card in the clip for a different card. The switch is super easy and deceptive. So if you have the clip in your pocket and a deck of cards, there are plenty of routines you can do with this.

Further, if you want to use blank face cards for a prediction, you can do that as well as long at they have playing card backs that match the color of the card that comes with your clip.

The notepad on its own also has a few things build into that can be performed independent of the clip as well. You can use an envelope on the table and produce a freely named card from the envelope. Read this next bit carefully. It seems impossible, but here we go. You can have the spectator merely be thinking of a card . . . they have not named it yet. Then, BEFORE they name it, you reach into an envelope and remove a folded up card (no envelope switches). Or instead of removing it from the envelope, you can "remove" it from the bull dog clip. Either way, you now have the folded card in your hand and nothing else. The spectator still has not yet named their card. Only now, while the folded card is in plain view do you ask them to name the card. In fact, you only need them to name the suit, not the card. Then you unfold the card (no switches) and it is the card they are thinking of.

This system allows you to do that effect. . . easily. That's how clever/powerful this system is. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that this is one of the most clever systems I've come across in a very long time.

Incarnation Review: Ad Copy Integrity

When I first saw the ad trailer, I thought for sure that one of the claims (no force, name ANY card, etc.) was going to be a wrong. But it's not. The ad copy is totally, 100% accurate. Everything it claims is true. Solid.

Incarnation Review: Product Quality

This whole system is very well made out of quality material, and it looks professional. The gimmicks are incredible and work with no problem. You're supplied the notepad which cleverly and secretly holds the index, You are also supplied a few other props which I will show in the video review. The bull dog clip is very simple and well made.

On top of that, the DVD, though not the most amazing production quality, is well thought out and well taught. Marc Oberon truly thought of everything when creating this system and when teaching it.

The only thing that he didn't cover very well was the use of one the two binary cards. He showed you how to do the effect with only one of the cards, not both. He briefly mentioned the second card, but my guess is that anyone not familiar with the binary concept (old as the hills) would be a little bit confused about the role of the second card. You only need one card to do the effect and he taught that quite well, but the second card allows for an extra subtlety in the method. This will make more sense in the video review, so make sure you watch that.

The bottom line on the product quality: superb.

Incarnation Review - Magic Reviewed

Incarnation Review: Final Thoughts

The beauty of this system is that it works for magic and mentalism.

  • Magic: The appearing card on the clip.

  • Magic: Their signed card is revealed to be the one on the clip from the beginning

  • Mentalism: Any named card is the card that is shown to have been on the clip the entire time

  • Mentalism: Predict their zodiac sign

  • etc., etc.

If any of the effects sound appealing to you and/or you liked anything you saw in the ad trailer, then you will be ecstatic with your purchase. In my opinion, $100 bucks is more than a fair price to pay for this system.

Final Verdict:
5 Stars with a Stone Status of GEM!!

PROS

Wow! This is simply tremendous. For some performers, the invisible deck just went extinct. The method is simply tremendous. The explanation is suberb. The props are top notch quality.

CONS

The only awkward item is you need to justify the writing pad. Marc includes several items that you can put in the writing pad, including a large 52-in-1 page. He also has other suggestions as well.

VERDICT

This is one of the best effects of the year.
