I’ve given this product the ultimate test. I’ve been using it on packs of cards throughout the entire summer. Midwestern summers can get really humid and ruin cards if they’re left in a pocket for too long.
In short: IT WORKS WONDERFULLY!
The lightweight plastic keeps it from weighing down your pocket, and keeps it from scratching up your box.
I’ll be keeping this, and using it in my everyday and professional use for a long time to come. There’s nothing more to say.

Vernet Card Guard Review:
One card guard, $12 bucks and nothing else. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.
Effect/Method
There's really no method or effect to speak of. This is a utility prop for protecting your deck of cards. The real question is whether you feel you need a card guard or not. I use one, but not to protect the deck. I use it because it becomes an interesting discussion piece that my audience asks about. So when I look for a card guard, I look for one that's cool looking and will make people ask questions.
That being said, I think the metal one I use, from Mechanic Industries, is a better fit for me. I think it looks better. However, this one still looks good, and works like any other card guard.
Ad Copy Integrity/Product Quality
The ad copy claims that it has all the elegance of the metal card guards even though this one is plastic. I'd say that's relatively true. It looks pretty good, and it's a lot more solid than I thought it would be. It's surprisingly well made and about half the weight of a metal guard - Yes. I weighed it.
Final Thoughts
This type of product doesn't require much to review it. I've placed it on a deck of cards and it works just like any other metal card guard. It's black and sleek looking. However, it seemed to easily pick up the oil from my skin leaving splotch marks on it. It was easily wiped off, but it may be necessary to constantly wipe off the guard. Other than that, It's hard not to recommend this for those of you who use/need card guards, especially at half the price of a traditional card guard.
Final Verdict:
4 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem.
