Effect
A deck is shown to be well mixed then shuffled. The deck is handed to a spectator and shuffled by him/her.
The spectator stops shuffling at any time, and deals cards one at a time. Then he stops dealing at any point he/she likes.
The card he/she stopped dealing is a force card.
This deck utilizes a simple but subtle principle. There is no need to memorize lots of things.
KYOTO Deck can be used by itself as a mental magic or in conjunction with routines that require a force.
DVD includes as many as twenty handlings, and how to make your performance more effective.
We believe that you will find your favorite handling among them.
No difficult sleights are needed.
You can use this deck in a surrounded situation.

Let's get the painful stuff out of the way first. You're not going to be inspired by the performances, or the editing, or the teaching. Even the menu system is wonky. The DVD comes from Japan and is subtitled in English. Watching this DVD is not going to be fun.
But you know what they say... no pain, no gain.
Here's the effect, exactly as it appears on the DVD. Actually, there are three performances. They're identical with the exception of the way the card is selected. The performer begins by removing a prediction card from a deck of cards with a blue back. The prediction can be in any format (sealed in an envelope, written on a napkin, etc.). The performer then introduces a second pack of cards, this one with red backs. He spreads through the deck, face-up, and removes the two jokers (thus showing the deck to be normal and well-mixed). The performer then shuffles the pack several times using several different shuffling methods (hindu, faro, etc.). A card is selected by an audience member in one of three ways:
The chosen card matches the prediction.
Sounds impossible, eh? Is it really that clean? Yes, it is.
The construction of the deck is very clever. It combines several principles you probably already know. In fact, I’m surprised I haven't come across it before. If anyone has any additional history on the method, please let me know.
To be honest, I didn't watch the entire DVD. Once you get the concept, the rest is just options. Looking at the menu system, it looks like you can do almost any style of force with this deck. Here's a list:

- Your helper runs his thumb down the corner of the deck (like a riffle force, but in their own hands), cuts the deck where they stopped and takes the card they stopped on.
- Your helper does a hindu shuffle (with some guidance) and stops where she wants
- Your helper names any number between 1 and 52. He counts to that card, which becomes the selection.
