Pen thru Bill is another modern classic that almost all of us have done at some point. Cody Fisher gives us a version that makes sense. His handling, and presentation are serious steps forward in this effect. His handling takes place up near his face, there is motivation for stabbing the bill, and the ending has a nice psychological twist where you remove all suspicion by offering them to KEEP the pen. You’ll have to buy this to see how Cody handles it so you don’t have to buy a new pen each time.
I have previously reviewed Cody’s “Restaurant Opener” and my only complaint about it was the packaging, and that’s the exact problem here. The DVD is in an envelope, and the gimmick is in a plastic bag. The other problem is that you can hear some commotion in the background on the video, which sounds like children playing. I think if Cody had simply waited to have a silent studio, the video would have been of a higher quality.
You are also provided with a PDF of the instructions and script on the DVD. The gimmick provided is perfect for Cody’s handling, and is well made. It looks like a normal pen, and shouldn’t draw too much suspicion.
Once again, this is a great professional presentation of a close up classic. If you use Pen thru Bill, you should buy and study Cody Fisher’s version.
