Sweetly Done is the coin to sugar packet effect on steroids, adding a visual element that looks like trick photography. Shane Black's new handling of this classic effect not only adds a visual element but it also adds a convincer that makes it clear that it's THEIR SIGNED coin inside the sugar packet.

Sweetly Done is easy to do and uses a clever idea to eliminate sleight of hand and makes an already great effect even better. Sweetly Done is great for people who enjoy doing magic in bars and it's perfect for the restaurant worker.

Points to remember:
  • The packet can be placed in their hand before the penetration and after.
  • They can actually feel the packet proving that there is no quarter in the packet before the penetration and actually feel the quarter inside the packet after the penetration.
  • The construction of the gimmick is very easy and takes very little time.
Running Time Approximately: 23 mins

This a short and sweet one trick DVD. The basic effect is that a signed quarter penetrates inside sugar packet. This is a pretty standard restaurant trick. The difference with this version is that you can show both hands empty while standing after the vanish, and the spectators can feel the signed quarter through the sugar packet.

The DVD runs a little over twenty minutes, is well produced, and sells for about thirteen dollars. I feel this is a fair approach to a one trick DVD like this. The effect isn’t bad, but it’s not worth thirty dollars either. Again, I feel the price is more than fair.

As for the effect and it’s description on the DVD case, it’s fairly accurate. However, the spectator can only feel the coin inside the sugar packet while you are holding it as well. Don’t let that discourage you though, this is a solid effect with a workable method, however some would say it’s unpractical.

You have to prepare a gimmick for every time you do this. This isn’t a huge investment of time, it doesn’t take a ton of effort to make, just don’t assume you can instantly reset this one, or prep it on the spot. If you want to do this ten times in a night, you need to make ten gimmicks before you leave the house. For the experienced restaurant worker, this may seem like a fair amount of work for such a quick effect. However, some may disagree and think that the effect is worth the time spent preparing for it.

I think this is perfect for the restaurant worker who wants to add an organic, apparently impromptu effect to their arsenal, and doesn’t mind the set up.
