THOUGHT PROCESS is a practical mind-reading effect from Wayne Fox, a professional close-up magician, who hails from Britain. After performing some card magic, the magician picks up the card box and asks an audience member to just think of one of the many words that appear on the box flap. The magician then names the word.

It really is that simple. Unlike many DVDs released lately, we get to see Mr. Fox performing the effect in a restaurant at the beginning of the presentation. It's a short clip, but it goes a long way towards Mr. Fox's credibility in my book. This is for workers, and as Mr. Fox mentions, he and several friends have audience-tested THOUGHT PROCESS thoroughly.

There's one "move" in the routine, but it's well within the range of the average magician and does not draw suspicion. Mr. Fox offers another way to perform this as a prediction, but he admits he does not feel it's as strong. I suspect he's right. Plus, this alternative presentation isn't original with Mr. Fox.

I must also say that I think one of the great things about this is that once the effect is over, anyone can pick up the card box and examine it. In fact, I would wait just a little longer than normal before moving to pick up the box.

For the price, this is a wonderful way for close-up magicians to add a quick piece of Mentalism that will bother audiences enough to make the performer memorable. And isn't that what we're all shooting for?
