AN AMBITIOUS ANALYSIS
This is an in-depth exploration of why the Ambitious Card is so popular as well as an important discussion of the challenges inherent in such a REPETITIVE effect. Jay discusses tempo, rhythm, variety and much more! Jay also share his thoughts on alternatives to signatures, using questions and humor for maximum audience management and misdirection, avoiding performing the effect as a mere "challenge," building the effect and choosing endings that say 'IT'S OVER!'
Running Time Approximately 1hr 30min

Pre-Review "Disclosure"/"Disclaimer":
Ok many of you probably know that Jay Sankey and I are good friends and that we've worked together on a project or two in the past, and we also are consultants to one another.
I get feedback from him on my stuff, and he gets feedback from me on a lot of his stuff. Additionally, I do not receive any sort of compensation whatsoever for reviewing or "pitching" his products (I was not involved in this particular project).
I tell you that up front just to sort of clear the air and to let you know that when I give Jay feedback, I'm brutally honest with him. I tell him if I think he has a crappy idea or a good idea. He wouldn't have it any other way, nor would I. So I want to make it clear that Jay's products get the same level of scrutiny as any other products I review.
On to the review:
This is a clever and Dual Meaning title: Extremely Ambitious. To have as a goal the creation of a completely comprehensive DVD on the subject of the Ambitious Card is indeed an extremely Ambitious goal. Jay achieves it in spades (another clever cliche from Jeff).
Bottom line: If you've been doing the Ambitious Card for 20 years, get this DVD. If you've been doing it for 20 minutes, get this DVD. If you have no idea what it is, get this DVD. As much information as is found on this DVD, I can't imagine that Jay held back anything. This must be a comprehensive collection of every single thought he's ever had on the Ambitious Card Plot. There's a mix of good idea, great idea, killer ideas, ok ideas, and one or two pretty weak/unpractical ideas. Most of the ideas are fully developed and clearly have, at one time or another, been a part of Jay's repertoire. Others, are rough or relatively untested ideas. All of the above is good for the serious student.
It's projects like this one from Jay where you see he true passion for the art of magic come flying at you head on. This is great for the newbies to see someone with such a love for creating and sharing, but it's also good for the veterans as well. We often need to be reminded how exciting performing magic really is.
Do yourself a favor and invest $30.00 bucks in your card magic.
GEM!
