Gyp Necklace

Vernet Magic

(Based on 1 review)

You show a beautiful necklace made of "poppit beads" and give it to the audience to be examined.

Then ask anyone to call a number. You pull the necklace apart showing a long string of beads and give it to the spectator. Then ask him to pull on the ends of the necklace and the string breaks at the exact chosen number. You can repeat the effect with different numbers.

This is one of those tricks that you are sure the audience will work out but presented properly it's a baffler. The down side is that you get a set of plastic poppit beads which look and are cheap. However if you use it as a joke i.e "I just bought my wife a necklace for her birthday.... want to see it?" not only does it get a laugh but somehow gives a reason for you to have a cheap prop. The method is quite clever but not earth shattering, but as I said is a baffler.

But what do you expect for $16.00, it's well worth the money.
