This is a beautiful production item. It requires a stage as it is too tall to produce in a low-ceiling locale.
It is spectacular in appearance, and should come at the end of other magic when the audience is not expecting anything else to happen. This gives the "space" needed to steal the rather large item and fling it in a way that makes it expand and lock in place.
The staff is so long and the banner so big that it is hard to explain where it came from as long as the initial cover is used to secure and fling it.
I often perform overseas and had the idea that I would use two of these - to produce an American flag and a flag of the country. BUT finding soft silk flags is difficult. I have an American flag that works well but have never found a country flag that I could use so I haven't used the flagstaff production very much.
Even so, it rates at least 4 stars... perhaps more.
