John Cornelius' Vanishing Nickel Was first seen by the world when Doug Henning performed it on his world-wide television special.

The VANISHING NICKEL looks like REAL magic! It truly looks like a camera trick however, you are able to perform this miracle close-up, right in front of your spectators without the use of black-art, special lighting, or any sticky stuff. It can be instantly repeated and it takes up no extra space than an actual nickel does.

EFFECT:
Imagine displaying a coin in your open hand. Your fingers slowly close over the coin. When you reopen your hand, the coin has magically VANISHED! With the fingers spread wide apart, the hand is slowly turned over, showing no trace of the coin on the back side of the hand. The coin has vanished completely! Lastly, the hand is again closed, and when reopened the coin has reappeared right in the middle of your hand. This is as good as visual magic gets.

The next time someone asks you to perform a trick, perform the vanishing nickel... The reactions are amazing!

Overview

This is a classic and it is so visually baffling that you could fool magicians that are not aware of this old trick. I remember buying this ages ago and getting an envelope with photocopied instructions. And, then Murphy's came out with a new version with a special nickle (included) and a great video by Javier Fuenmayor. Great stuff!

Effect

You show a nickel in your hand and close your hand. You open your hand and the nickel is gone and you can rotate the front and back of your hand to show that it is really gone. Then, at will, you can make the nickel reappear in your hand. It's a superb trick.

Method

Well, of course is ain't real magic (even though it looks like it), but it uses a newly created nickel (although I did this years ago with a real nickel) and some stuff. I don't want to say what IT is, but if you are magician you will know what IT is. You are supplied some of that IT stuff and something that is not so invisible to practice with. You get everything you need.

Product Quality

Great quality and ready to learn right out of the box. The video is the best part because it makes learning it real simple. I think you will have to spend some time practicing how to do this and when you are set t perform, you will need to manage spectator placement and angle. instant reset and again a great product.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is below. I have a few nits. First, there is something sticky, but not what they are referring to. That could be confusing. Second, it says no sleight of hand, but it requires some sleight-like movements. Maybe splitting hairs but you have to be intentional and practiced on how you are moving your hands.
