Kolossal Kolor Cards

O'Brien, Obie

Meir Yedid Magic

(Based on 1 review)
This was likely Obie O'Brien's favorite creation. He performed it every time he was booked at a magic convention and at all his paid parlor and close-up shows. It is a quick in-the-hands packet trick using large cards and a surprise ending.

The routine begins as an observation test using four Queens of Clubs. After turning over one of the Queens you ask how many are face down? When they answer one, you make a magical gesture and show they are all face down. After turning one face up you ask again, only this time they are all face up.

This is where the surprises begin: You ask if they remember what color were the backs? They answer blue. You say yes. But is this the blue you remember? You turn the card to show a completely different blue back with spirals! You then show the other cards with red spiral backs, green spiral backs, and yellow spiral backs.

The cards can be easily reset for the next performance. Only sleight used is the Elmsley Count. The video tutorial features Meir Yedid teaching his handling and Obie O'Brien teaching his original routine.

Comes complete with specially printed parlor size Cards (3" x 4.5") and access to an online video tutorial featuring Meir Yedid and Obie O'Brien. Manufactured by Meir Yedid Magic.

Overview

Kolossal Kolored Kards is now made in Parlor Size, which means that the cards are a bit larger than poker size cards. They are not huge and are approximately 3 inches by 4.5 inches.

Overall, this is an awesome trick for $20 bucks and it is awesome.

It is highly recommended!

Effect

The routine is great. It is presented as an observation test. The performer apparently shows four Queen of Clubs. The cards are all shown to be face up. One of the Queens is turned face down and the back is a clearly a blue back, the cards are counted and all of the card miraculously turned face down and all you see is matching blue backs.
Then one Queens is turned face up and miraculously all the Queens miraculously follow and turn face up.

Then the observation test comes into play. The spectator is asked to name the color of the backs and they of course say they are blue. The first card is turned over and it is in fact blue, but it is not the card back they saw before, it is a blue back with a hypnotic circle in the middle. And then the next back is red and then green and then yellow.

The spectator is left stunned.

Method

There may be more than meets the eye and the counting in a special way is a sleight that is the core of the trick. It is not too hard, but will require some basic sleight and memorization of various steps. It will take some practice to get used to the phases and to get it to run smoothly.

Product Quality

The only complaint I have is that the normal backs are not rider backs. That would have been preferable. instead you have a "Cheetah" back card. Otherwise you get some great cards for a great trick.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is right on. Here it is:
