The Senor Mardo Egg Bag is a egg bag with a different design compared to others like the Malini Egg but allows you do perform the same routines where an egg is magically produced from an otherwise empty bag, then vanished within the bag, showing it empty before reproducing it.
The bag can also be used with an object that isn’t an egg, such as a golf ball or something similar, so that gives you options to create new presentations with this bag.
The bag itself it designed with a pattern as opposed to other bags that have a solid colour. The design itself if what allows the secret to be hidden if the bag were to be seen 360 degrees, but it’s not totally invisible if you know what you’re looking for or if you handle the bag in a way that exposes the secret. The ad copy mentions that it’s invisible upon direct inspection, and I feel this is only the case if the bag is empty and flat. The placement of the secret is also what makes this bag different from others and allows for bigger items and different handling such as comfortably holding the bag upside down without any fear of a premature production.
The quality of the bag is good and very well made. The only issue I ever had was some strands of thread fraying from the secret in the bag, but this only occurred after many years of performing with it. I happy bought another egg bag just incase my other one frayed too much, but all this did was ensure both bags last longer as I switch between using them. The bag is a good large size that will comfortable fit most hands inside and due to the thick fabric, can comfortably hide a final shot glass load if you choose to use one.
There are many egg bag routines out there and whether that routine needs a Malini Egg Bag or otherwise, this bag can easily adapt to the routine. Personally, I do the Scott Alexander/Denny Haney Egg Bag routine which uses a Malini, but works perfectly with the Senor Mardo Egg Bag with no issues to how the routine works.
How do you choose between a Senor Mardo compared to any other Egg Bag? It ultimately comes down to your personal preference. If you don’t mind the patterned design, then this bag will work for you, but if you want a solid colour Egg Bag then you’ll look elsewhere. Personally I’ve never had issues with anyone calling out the pattern on my Egg Bag and have used it in different venues from kid’s parties to corporate events and wedding performances.
