Magic Soul

[Zero Set]
Take your audience member's card-signed, if you want!- and make it magically appear inside this clear plastic ID holder. This trick is both simple to perform and stunning to behold!

This product has been in development for over three years, undergoing many series of improvements, and is finally ready to be shared amongst you and your friends. Two versions are included, beginner and advanced, to fit your particular need.

[Beginner Version]
Includes a supplementary card force setup to ensure that even those with no magic experience at all can experience the magic of this clever trick, and perform it with props alone.

[Advanced Version]
Teaches you how to supplement the props with your own technical ability to make the final effect even more unbelievable-not only can the audience member sign their card, they can inspect the ID holder with their own two hands!

If you are looking for something a little different that is very visual and stunning then this is a very nice effect. The description of what happens being the spectator selects a card from the deck and then vanishes from the deck to reappear in an empty and clear ID badge holder. The visual appearance of their selected card in a clear badge holder is very nice but there are some serious angle issues. Also from the point of showing the holder empty to when the card ‘magically appears’ the handling feels awkward and looks very unnatural.

According to the ad and the printed description on the product packaging there are two different versions that can be performed. 1. The Beginner Version which is the version described above which requires little to no card skill to have the card selected and then appear in the clear holder, and 2. The Advanced Version which would allow your spectator to select any card, sign it and then their signed card will appear in the holder. This version is more suited to an experienced card magician or you will need to learn how to do a Mercury Card Fold.

Instructions on to learn how to do this effect are another thing. You will receive your props with written instructions and 16 line drawings on how to perform the Basic Routine, that’s it. The instructions are a little hard to follow as you are reading them and then trying to apply them to your hand movements. If you are like me and left-handed, it is definitely going to be challenging. Remember before video when you had to learn a trick by reading it step by step - welcome back. It does say on the package that there are "full instructional videos online” but I could find a link anywhere in the instructions at all. There was a QR Code and weblink to Magic Soul but only the ad demo was found there. This being the case, I could not learn or find anything teaching the Advanced Version. You could probably figure it out on your own but all of that is supposed to be included in the price of the product.

It is a cool visual trick and if you perform at a lot of Trade Shows and if you don’t mind putting some work into it this may be for you, by all means buy it. If you just want to add something to your act where a selected card ends up somewhere else, there are a lot of other things you can do. From my perspective, not highly recommended.
