The thick card is one of the most overlooked and underused gaffs in magic. Simple and inexpensive to make, yet massively versatile, this innocuous creation is a powerful replacement for sleight of hand. With one dropped into your working deck you will be armed and ready to perform controls, forces, multiple lifts and peeks all without EVER HOLDING A BREAK!
The Thick Card is like the swizz army knife of gaffs - it can do so much, yet is all but invisible in the deck. You can have your thick card in play all day long. The deck can be handled by the spectator. It's undetectable from every angle, and it's 100% locatable with touch alone. (No more panicked triple checking that you cut at the right place!).
This single gaff card will elevate your routines to a stratospheric level - now you can perform forces, controls, peeks and multiple lifts with the cleanest possible handling. As you never need to hold a break, you are free to put the deck down. You can shuffle, cut and mix the deck AND STILL BE IN COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CARDS!

A simply marvelous gimmick (included) that allows you to do any of the effects listed above. As a double lift facilitator (the reason I bought it) makes double, tipple even quad-ripple lifts easy and a thing of beauty. If you are a die hard card man it will be thought of as cheating but for the average magician who would like to add some professional looking card moves to their routines, it is a God send. If you have ever wanted to do a flawless signed ambitious card routine but had trouble with the sleights now you can add it to your set worry free. And for a smash finish take a look at ocular listed elsewhere on this site. As far as value for the money and quality of product? Hey it's Big Blind Media...'nuff said.

Thick Card Project Review
One thick card, one DVD, 90 minutes, a cubic buttload of techniques, effects and ideas, $30 bucks and one Thick Card Project Review. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.
Thick Card Project Review: Effect/Method
What you're getting for $30 bucks is an in depth study of the thick card, an extra "special" card that you can add to your deck allowing you to do things that seem impossible. It's a tool for enchancing existing methods you may be using. It can be used to change the handling of an effect so that it's much more hands-off and much more free feeling to the spectator. Check out the ad copy for the HUGE list of what you'll get on this DVD.
For those familiar with Dai Vernon's exceptional effect, Emotional Reaction, you'll LOVE the addition of a thick card to that effect/method/plot. It makes an already fair feeling effect seem impossibly fair. There are multiple effects taught (see ad copy) that are leveled up due to the introduction of the thick card. The beauty of this is that you'll be inspired to incorporate it into your existing work.
Thick Card Project Review: Ad Copy Integrity
The ad copy is totally legitimate. Take a moment, please, to read the ad copy. I want you to see what you're in for. Everything they claim is what you are really getting.
Thick Card Project Review: Product Quality
If I could have one wish . . . one dream . . . fantasy . . . hope for mankind, it would be that we could all — men, women and children — grow amazing Owen Packard goat beards. Ah what a world that would be. Peace . . . cats and dogs living in harmony . . . no more world hunger . . . the end of poverty and oppression forever . . . pure utopia. But alas, until that day comes, we must merely be satisfied with the wonderland that is Big Blind Media productions. The product quality is, as per the norm, butt kickin' good. That's kind of like finger lickin' good, but better.
The teaching segments are darn near perfect. Liam does a superb job of covering things in simple steps yet in complete depth. After watching this set, you'll know everything you'll ever need to know about the thick card. But more importantly, you'll be inspired. You'll take this classic "root" of magic and "branch" out in your own repertoire improving your magic (if you put this tool to use). You'll want to reconsider much of your card work and see if/how this tool can improve the magical feeling of your effects.
Thick Card Project Review: Final Thoughts
Of course, if you're not a card performer, you can skip this one. Duh. However, if you have even one — I really mean just one — card trick in your repertoire, then this is worth the cost to improve your one trick. Not only do you learn how to make a thick card — it takes 45 seconds to do so — but you also receive one with your DVD. When you consider the tons of content, the clarity with which it is presented, and the fact that you receive the gimmick all for $30 bucks, this is a no brainer for you card folk.
Final Verdict:
5 Stars with a Stone Status of GEM!
