This is a version of 'Bending a Piece of Glass' as first published in Oswald Rae's Sub Rosa in 1928.
Now for those who only like to do Modern Tricks, this is one classic that is modern again. It was made popular in the early 80's by Doug Henning who did away with wrapping it up in newspaper and instead put it in a knitted bag.
The Mikame version is one of the best made that I have seen!
The craftsmaship is wonderful! The hinge is concealed inside which stops it snagging in the bag. And the whole thing is finished off very professionally.
It comes with a bag which is also well made but personally I prefer a knitted bag as the needle is easier tp push through the stiches as it doesn't leave a hole. But that is just a personal choice.
There are cheaper ones around but a lot of them look tacky, where this does look like a professional prop but without all the glitter and sparkle some manufacturers insist on using!
Well worth getting!
