Have the ability of the Topit, without having to wear a jacket. Begin and end completely clean, with sleeves rolled up! Do incredibly visual transpositions of small objects. Switch coins easily for mentalism effects, such as coin bends. Clean up nearly any close up coin trick that uses gimmicked or extra coins or cards. Do a one handed coin vanish into the spectators palm, with no magnets or pulls. And so, so much more!Take Note... No Pulls, No Magnets, No strings, No coat, No Sleeves, No Problem! High quality construction. The TKO lies dormant, and completely undetectable until you need to use it. Great for all skill ranges because there are some effects based on misdirection, and others where the spectators can burn your hands and still see nothing! There are invariably two responses to new technologies. We see it all the time in consumer electronics. If you're a hacker / experimenter / maker, get it and start playing. If you're a regular consumer, wait for version 2. That's how I feel about this device. In fact, I wish our review system had some way for me to break the start rating up based on user types (hmm... maybe a new feature for the site?).
The idea is pretty brilliant. It's basically a topit-like device that can be used with a short-sleeved, button-down shirt. That's freakin' cool!
The manufacturing and engineering are just fine. You have to keep in mind that until this was on the market, it was probably only used by the creator and whoever he decided to share it with. So we're talking a pretty small set of people "testing" the device.
I think the creator is fully aware of this. He's setup an online forum to discuss new ideas and future developments. That's exactly what will make a product like this evolve into something more mature.
Again, if you're a hacker type like me, you're going to love TKO (assuming you're OK with needles and thread). There are lots of ways to alter the device to fit your needs. For instance, I started off with two problems. First, I have unique buttons on my custom shirts that are larger than normal. This caused a problem with mounting the thing (easily solved). Second, I work with Morgan silver dollars. They're significantly heavier than the standard half dollars the creator is using. I had to make a slight alteration to keep them from falling out of the device unexpectedly.
I really hope this product catches on. It's extremely useful once you get it working. But if you're one of those people who are going to get pissed off if it doesn't work out-of-the-box and with no practice, wait for version 2.
