Coin Fusion

(Based on 1 review)
A borrowed coin is held at your finger tips.

The coin is torn completely in two. The two halves are displayed at your finger tips. Then you slowly bring the two halves of the coin back together, before handing the coin back to the spectator completely restored.

Totally Brand New Concept

Includes instructional DVD and gimmick.

The production quality of this DVD is pretty bad. Also, the whole thing from start to finish is about 10 minutes.

Here's the official ad copy:

  1. A borrowed coin is held at your finger tips.

  2. The coin is torn completely in two. The two halves are displayed at your finger tips. Then you slowly bring the two halves of the coin back together, before handing the coin back to the spectator completely restored.

  3. Totally Brand New Concept

  4. Includes instructional DVD and gimmick.

Bullet #1 - The gimmick I got is for an American Half Dollar . . . I don't know about where you perform, but that's just not a coin that can be borrowed.
Bullet #2 - This is 100% true and the illusion looks amazing!
Bullet #3 - Not really . . . it's basically another method for the coin bite . . . not exactly new
Bullet #4 - Yep for $45

Though the production quality was bad and scratchy and had audio problems, the camera angles were pretty good and you got what you need to perform this effect. However, the DVD is burned rather than pressed which means that you may have some problems in some players.

The gimmick is relatively well made, and with the right handling which is taught on this DVD, you have a very convincing illusion.

The bottom line is this: Is this effect worth $45 dollars? Though the quality of the DVD is horrendous, the prop itself is pretty solid. Just keep in mind that you'll have to start by showing your own half dollar rather than borrowing one. However, everything is as the ad says. The performance is very clean and very much at the finger tips. The illusion of the coin being torn in half is very good. Additionally, this coin could be used for a coin bite effect and maybe some other things as well, so it' almost safe to say that you're getting a utility prop.

This one is tough to give a definitive rating because on the one hand it feels like this product was just thrown together. On the other hand however, you have a decent quasi utility prop plus a really good effect. So if you like the idea of tearing a coin in half with a very convincing illusion and you think you'll perform it, then I'd say you'll probably get your money's worth.

If you're just looking to buy the secret, don't bother.

Final Verdict: 3 stars with a Stone Status of Rem (almost rubble, but mostly Gem).
