Small Miracles
Helder Guimaraes
(Based on 1 review)
Helder Guimaraes, FISM 2006 World Champion of Card Magic, shares for the first time ever some of his pet effects.
In Small Miracles, you'll find:
Blank Deck Routine - One of Helder's pet routines, where a spectator ends by free selecting (yes, free selecting!!!) the only printed card from a blank deck!
Invisible Thread Routine - Transform one card into four aces, make 4 kings appear and then perform a two phase transposition routine between them. Includes a very clean version of Paul Harris' Reset.
S(h)ocking - Two cards transposition that top card guys will want to perform.
Out of this Water - Learn how you can perform Out of his World, ending with a deck separation out off your hands!
Visual Triathlon - A version of Pit Hartling's effect, that's so visual and so impossible people will have lots of jaw dropping.
Plus more baffling tricks, new techniques and methods, 2 extras (if you find them...) and lots of comedy!
And remember: "Don't believe in everything you see in this DVD, it can be an illusion..."
Running Time Approximately 2hr 12min

The vast majority of magic products being released hasn't changed over the years. Cards, cards and more cards! Don't take that the wrong way. I love card magic. But I hate 90 percent of the "new" card magic that's released. Do we really need more? Very few are worth no more than a brief mention in a magazine column, or a variation in the back of a book. But, sadly we just don't see books of "a lifetime of hard work" any more. Instead we get one-trick ponies on DVD. I'm surprised I still have a full head of hair!
With that, I give you Helder Guimaraes' SMALL MIRACLES. Yes, I had never heard of him either when I came across this gem. Mr. Guimaraes was the FISM 2006 World Champion of Card Magic and it's easy to see why.
There are seven card routines and there's not a bad one in the bunch. It's obvious Guimaraes has studied the masters of card magic and applied their lessons to his work. In particular one can see the performance theories of Juan Tamariz here.
My favorite effect on the disc is OUT OF THIS WATER. It's Paul Curry's OUT OF THIS WORLD with a wonderful twist at the end. It utilizes only half the deck in a very logical way and has elements of the U.F. Grant and Paul Harris versions. There's also a fantastic tip that Guimaraes said his father gave him during the black/red selection process that I absolutely love. I've been showing this to magicians and lay audiences (when table space allows) alike and the reactions have been ones of utter astonishment (to borrow Mr. Harris' favorite term).
There's a lot to chew on here. Some of it will be technically challenging, but not impossible. This is one of the best DVDs of card magic I've ever seen. Period.
