Another product I just had to submit just to be able to review it!
If you currently perform or are thinking about performing the Multiplying Billiard Balls/Golf Balls, this DVD set is a MUST-HAVE. It is not necessarily encyclopedic, but it comes darn close.
There is a lot of history on this effect that Levent talks about throughout the four discs, including the more famous presentations of it, such as that of Roy Benson and Cardini (Dick Cardini).
He starts by describing various sets of multiplying balls, each being made of various materials with varying types of finishes and attributes, pros and cons. He even describes (for those of you unfamiliar) the difference between a billiard set and a snooker set and their place in this effect.
He then goes on to teach the basic handling of the balls and the gimmick, from basic productions and vanishes to the most complicated moves you never thought possible. All of the contents are just way to numerous to list here and in fact, inside the DVD case you will find a complete chapter AND contents list printout for all four discs. The complete list can be found on the Levent website under the products tab.
The menus on the discs are very easy to navigate, the video and audio qualities are second-to-none and very crisp and clear. There are lots of close-up sequences to help make some moves and/or sleights easier to understand/see. The crediting on this disc is PHENOMENAL!
As an added bonus and on top of giving the history of the routines, Levent also teaches, in their entirety and in character, the routines of Roy Benson, Cardini, etc.
Further, there are a few different holders that he teaches you to make from items around the house for use in the routines, and one that is central to the Benson routine that can be easily made from a few purchased items if you have the desire to make it.
Personally, I am a huge fan of the Billiard Ball/Thimble/Coin manipulation videos from Jeff McBride and I would put this set right up there with those. In fact, I would say there is even more information here simply because this set focuses solely on billiard ball manipulation. Just like the former set, this 3-disc set belongs on the video shelf of every serious manipulation-minded performer or enthusiast!
Very highly recommended!
