Back in the 90's, what started as a small, obscure publication known as The Magic Menu, was destined to become the greatest resource for restaurant magicians. The magic menu ran for over a dozen years, and was retired some years back. This was headed up by Connecticut based magician, Jim Sisti. I own several of Jim's products (including The Magic Menus), and have seen him lecture. Let me tell you, the guy knows restaurants.
The Magic Menu contains essays, articles and stories by some of the greatest magicians of our time (Eugene Burger, Michael Ammar, Michael Close, David Acer, Jay Sankey, Doc Eason, Paul Green, Simon Lovell and tons, tons, tons more). You'll find everything from restaurant mentalism, magic, balloons to how to get gigs, reviews of products, free tricks and soooooooo much more. The Magic Menu has been republished as 3 hard bound books. The three books combined cover every year and every issue of the magic menu. This is an absolute must have for the serious close up magician. Definite GEM!

As a restaurant entertainer, I thoroughly enjoy Jim Sisti's articles in Magic Magazine. So when I spotted these two books on the shelf, I decided to give them a try. I have to say that these two books have become my table-hopping bible. The information, tips and tricks are worth every cent.

To cut to the point, if you work in bars or restaurants, you must own these books.
The material covers how to get a job, what your ethics and behavior should be on the job, audience management, product reviews, as well as a great deal of magical ideas and routines for you.
My favorite aspect is that the tricks provided and the reviews are geared towards strolling magic. If the trick is great, but doesn't work in that enviroment, the review says so. Everything is geared towards the professional worker.
If you don't own these books, you may be holding yourself, and your magic, back.
