An amazing prediction effect by DARYL! The magician predicts in advance which card will be chosen by a spectator's freely selected number. This self-working effect is easy to perform and very easy to learn. This re-issue of Red Prediction contains newly designed cards printed by USPCC! Full Online Tutorial included!
The Red Prediction by Daryl is a version of the old ESP Mind Control trick that every beginning mentalist buys before they start exploring other forms of mentalism. Daryl was an incredible performer and creator of magic but this particular effect would only be for a rank beginner. It’s simplicity and limited application is useful for getting familiar with performing and presentation.
Effect
Six numbered cards are shown to the spectators. The cards are oddly alternating face down and face up. A spectator is asked to roll an imaginary die and call out its number. The performer counts down to that card and places it on the table. A prediction which has been in view the whole time is turned over and it reads “You will pick the red card”. The numbered card is turned over and it has a red back. All the other cards have blue backs. The prediction came true. This is one of a couple of possibilities with The Red Prediction.
Method
The method involves a multiple out. With only six numbered cards in play there isn’t much with one can work with. Being a self-working trick, it allows the performer to concentrate on performance only. If desired, a flustration count can be shown to prove all the other cards have blue backs or are as alluded to which is having all black printed numerals depending on the number chosen by the spectator. This is an effect that cannot be repeated for the same audience.
Product Quality
As far as the quality of the props go, the cards are printed by the USPCC and the instructional is thorough enough to get you going. The instructional download runs about nine minutes which covers everything you need to know.
Ad Copy Integrity
The ad copy is brief just like the trick. I would say there is a bit of hyperbole when it states “An amazing prediction effect by Daryl !” Calling this 1 out of 6 chance amazing is a bit much”.
