Well - this DVD was not exactly what I envisioned it being. Actually, it was better.

Anyone that has studied the work of Tony Slydini knows that the effect and all of the modus operandi are of no importance - it is the timing, the body language and the psychology that come together to make your work more magical. The presentation also counts. Here, Tony Clark touches on all the important aspects of the 10 effects that are explained: the how, the why and the when.

The format of this DVD was a rather fresh breath of air, at least to me. It was done like a traditional lecture, and in fact it was recorded during a live internet lecture, hosted by Jeff Hobson. Mrs. Hobson (Yvonne) assists Tony on and off during the lecture. Periodically Jeff will relay a question from someone watching the live lecture online and Tony will answer them by going over the effect again or giving tips and pointers where appropriate.

I would list all the things on this DVD but the product info already gives you that list, but there is so much more to it than that. The production quality on this DVD was very good, the video and sound were clear and the material was very well taught.

The only thing I can think of that MIGHT have enhanced one or two of the explanations (for some people) was a side-view camera shot, but Tony does such a great job explaining them that it is hardly necessary. Most of the camera shots were full-frontal, and where it was necessary/gave an explanation more clarity, they did do overhead shots as well.

I bought this DVD because I have enjoyed doing Slydini effects for a long time, and because I love the work of Tony Clark. I even got a lot of new ideas from this DVD. In short, if you have ever wanted more insight to the work of Tony Slydini (or some better understanding of his principles/ideas*), this DVD is for you.

*In this case, I would also recommend the Tony Clark DVD Timing Is Everything.
