I have several jumbo card rise apparatus. Two are electronic. They are my favorite because my lovely assistant can operate the mechanism when I am well away from the cards, which makes the effect very magical.
The Mikame is well made but mechanical, which means that the magician has to flip a switch to start the action. I had hoped that the mechanism would allow me to activate it with a thread, but that is not the case.
Other than having to initiate the action in close proximity to the houlette, this is a wonderfully made rising card effect. The cards rise slowly and then tip to the size when they are 3/4 out of the deck. With the electronic card rises the cards can be stopped before they tip to the side, which is a second major advantage to the electronic models, along with the ability to initiate action while away from the cards.
For the price, the Mikame is a good buy, a dependable mechanism, and a beautiful product.
