A good beginner set of rings, instructions cover an easily learned routine. Asian magicians use many displayed patterns of the rings, while western magicians tend to just focus on the penetration of the ring. I suggest the book by Pete Biro, "The Real Secrets of the Chinese Linking Rings" to gain better insight into why this is a classic of magic. Rating is based upon the quality of the ring, and the lock mechanism, as it were.
