Overview
Allegro by Miquel Puga (AKA Magomigue) is another gem from the Essential Magic Collection produced by Luis De Matos. Besides single DVDs, the Essential Magic Collection features sixteen 4 DVD sets of some of the best works of primarily European performers. The format is always the same with the first DVD featuring a full show and then the explanations. Additional tricks are featured on the remaining 3 DVDs. In addition to the performances and explanations, Luis De Matos has engaging interviews at the end of most of the DVDs.Effect
True to form for most Spanish magicians from the Juan Tamariz school of magic, his performance style is extremely animated and engaging. Card magic and a bit of coin work is the magic of choice by Magomique. There is a lot of audience byplay and interaction which fleshes out the routines with comedy and silly antics. Twenty eight tricks are featured in the DVD set including his two FISM acts.Method
Like most card work of the Spanish School there is a leaning towards sleight of hand as well as the use of the Mnemonica stack. Although there are some sleights, most of the card work can be accomplished by an intermediate card performer.Product Quality

The collection features many performers that would not be typically seen here in the US and affords us the opportunity to watch and learn magic from them. Wow. This 4 DVD set is almost ten hours long, and I watched every second of it, FOR YOU!
I’ll keep my review MUCH shorter by saying this: If you are a fan of the “Spanish School” of Magic, and are a fan of card or coin magic, just get this.
All I can really say about Miguel Puga is that he’s a minimalist. He gets really funny moments out of the smallest of things, and he knows how to make standard close up tricks into huge stage tricks. Two of my favorite stage effects I’ve ever seen done with a pack of cards is Mac King’s Card to Pocket, and Cards Across (aka Cloak of Invisibility) and this set has wonderful and different stage versions of both! The amount of subtleties and real world experience taught in just these two routines are worth the price of the set in my opinion.
If you want to learn to turn small tricks into stage pieces, this set is a worthwhile investment, AND you’ll get seven extra hours of magic!
