G.O.D. - Good Outright Deception

Solari, Bob

Bob Solari Magic

(Based on 1 review)
BAD CREDIT: Punch a series of holes in a spectators credit card with a paper punch. Visibly restore it right in front of their eyes!

M.I.T. PRINCIPAL: A clever, easy to make gimmick that will allow you to "read" the spectators mind. It's bold, it's amazing and it works! [Material for this gimmick is supplied with the notes]

CLINK, CLINK: A cunning concept for anyone who performs the Nielson Vanishing Bottle effect. This tip will convince your audience (even magicians) that the bottle is actually made of glass!

AIR TIGHT: Magically cause a penny to visibly melt into a sealed clear plastic bag! (Gimmick is supplied)

PEEK-A-BOO DECK: An easy to make "tossed out" type deck but all the cards are different! You will instantly know what card the spectator "peeked" at. No fishing, no guessing, no questions asked.

INERTIA VANISH: A vanish of coin that looks like real magic. You may never use a coin retention again!

X-CEPTIONAL: A freely selected card proves to be the only card in the deck marked with a large "X" on its back!

SPONGE BOB FLAT PANTS: If you work with sponge balls, you will love this. An easily obtainable device that will keep a 4 inch sponge ball hidden in your pocket until you need it, without the telltale bulge.

POCKETED: A no palm signed card to pocket, that will leave your spectators with their mouth wide open with amazement. A real reputation maker!

BLADERUNNER: A freely selected signed card is lost in the deck. The spectator slips a knife blade into the deck, find their own card!

FLY BY FORCE: An easy and convincing card force suitable for larger groups of spectators.

MADE IN CHINA A spectators thought of card proves to be the only red backed card in the deck, which also has Chinesee writing on its back! Everyone knows that everything is "Made in China"! It is a Brainwave type effect with humor!

These 2011-2012 Lecture Notes contain 12 effects and tips. Special gimmicks are supplied free for two of the effects. Many step-by-step photos for easy learning!

I'm a sucker for lecture notes. Not many people buy them and, when they do (usually at a lecture), they tend to forget about them within a couple of weeks. I've found more good stuff in lecture notes than all other media combined!

But when it comes to Bob Solari, you're not just going to get regular ol' notes. His come with goodies... nifty goodies!

Rather than talking about each effect in the notes, I'm only going to cover the highlights. You can read the descriptions for the others. One thing to keep in mind: there are several things in the book that read like things you might have seen before. You can be confident that while the effect may be similar, the method is all Solari (i.e. exceedingly devious and potentially requiring a bit of arts and crafts preparation).

The M.I.T. Principal combines one prop you already own with another gaff that you've probably heard of but never used (even though quite a few pros I know use it). What you're really getting here is a clever way to conceal the less-well-known gaff without any additional sleight of hand. This option opens up a lot of handlings that might have been otherwise dangerous.

If you perform a vanishing bottle that utilizes a rubber bottle, Bob has a way of proving that it's solid, and made of glass, that you'll want to check out.

If you're a mentalist, or just want a clean way to learn the value of a peeked-at card, Bob's Peek-A-Boo deck is worth studying. It's not going to work for every situation and every routine, but it could work for yours.

If you do the sponge balls and need a big finish, check out Sponge Bob Flat Pants.

Pocketed is a very clever Card to Pocket routine that is available as a separate product. Read my review of it to find out what I thought. While one of the gimmicks is included with the notes, the rest of it is not. If you like the routine, I highly suggest you buy the full kit from Bob.
