Sneaky monkey!

One of the coolest things I bought when I was young was a trick called NOW-U-C-IT, NOW-U-DON'T (not to be confused with the excellent book by Bill Tarr — my bible as a budding magician). It was a little device that allowed you to do the cleanest coin vanishes and productions I had ever seen.

Now, twenty-five years later, I was fooled by a very similar principle. In fact, after watching several of the performance clips on the DVD, I began to suspect that Diego Antoine was using a method I already knew.

I can't tell you exactly what's going on, but the subtitle on the packaging is "Threadwork without levitation." That should give you a clue.

With the exception of Armando Lucero's Coin Menagerie, I've never seen coin work this magical-looking. What you're buying is a concept. A new way of "manipulating" coins. Actually, it's not all coins. Deigo also works with buttons and rings on the DVD, but the concept can be applied to almost any small object.

The explanations are clear. Diego is from Argentina and speaks Spanish, but the English dub is perfectly acceptable. The DVD covers many moves and short routines. You'll have to use your imagination to build this premise into your existing material.

As the subtitle states, you'll be working with invisible thread. The good news is that if the thread breaks, you just need to have the chops to continue with pure sleight of hand. You won't have "floating" objects crashing to the floor.
