From the creator of the best-seller "Water to Beer" comes a new miracle. Instantly FREEZE a water bottle!

Effect

You take brand new factory sealed bottle of water and show it all the way around. You ask your spectator to feel the temperature of the bottle. They tell you the bottle is at room temperature. You show your hands to be clean and empty, you slowly start blowing on the bottle, and the impossible takes place: the water starts to get cold and FREEZE.

Points to remember:
  • Bottle still factory sealed
  • The spectator can touch and feel the temperature both before and after
  • The water genuinely gets cold
This is FREEZE!

Dear Sexy Teenagers,

I want to be fair here. I have no idea whether this effect works as described. This effect uses chemicals and the street magician's new best friend, a water bottle! I did not venture out into the world to purchase the chemical needed and I can't stand water bottles. Seriously, what's the fascination with water bottles? First of all, they're getting dangerously close to going the way of the cigarette for environmental reasons. Most effects that utilize a water bottle usually require some alteration of the bottle, the water, or the thing that's being shoved inside the bottle. This means handing things out for examination become impossible.

FREEZE by JP is apparently just that: a water bottle is blown on by the performer and the water inside freezes, becoming ice. The problem is...now what? What does one do? The bottle cannot be given to someone. The bottle, as far as I can tell, cannot be used for any follow-up effect.

For $23.00, you'll receive a seven-page booklet describing the effect and the preparation. It appears English is not JP's first language, but that won't prevent you from learning the required presentation.

JP mentions he has performed this on television and I suppose that's where it might work best. If you need a quick effect that can play to a reporter, who can confirm that the bottle is not cold and is full of water and then later confirm it is cold and full of ice, you've got a winner.

There's quite a bit of preparation involved and ultimately I don't think it's worth it. Watch the Youtube video and read other reviews. Just like a potential date on eHarmony, you'll have to figure out if the foreplay is worth the fireworks later.

Your Pal,

Dr. Ruth
