20th Century Cards on Ribbon

No Reviews Yet
The basic effect of a card appearing threaded between two other cards on a ribbon by this method is credited to Allan Lambie. The Late Edwin Hooper of Supreme Magic Company fame made a more elaborate presentation routine of this, under the above title, which he detailed in his book 'A Host Of Surprises'.

The item offered here is similar to Edwin's in terms of the effect on the audience, but it has been slightly modified in both the working and props. Unlike Edwin's method this effect eliminates the 3-way forcing deck and trick card case he used. This is a very simple to perform, but equally effective routine.

A spectator selects 3 cards from an ordinary deck. The deck, including the spectator's selections and a length of ribbon are now placed in a grocery bag, which has been shown empty. The performer claims he will fish out the selected cards threaded on the ribbon. The ribbon is removed from the bag, and two cards are seen threaded on this, - they prove to be two of the three selected cards. Looking around for the third card, and failing to find it in the deck, the performer gives the ribbon a jerk, and the 3rd selected card magically appears threaded on the ribbon between the other two.
