The magician asks the spectator who is in possession of some balloons to choose and inflate a few of them. You make it clear that there is no way you could shoot any projectile at the balloons. In order to do so, you ask the spectator to isolate the inflated balloons in a secure place that you could not possibly gain access to , even at a distance. Your audience must be certain that it is not possible for you (or anyone else for that matter) to throw anything at the balloons to make them burst. If anyone remains skeptical, you can take such steps as isolating the spectator and the balloon in a plastic box, a phone booth, or even in a locked room without a window. To convince your audience that you are not using any stooges, ask a second spectator to choose a balloon and hold it between his hands. You stare intently at the balloon for a few seconds, and, with the audience rapt in silence, the chosen balloon explodes with a loud burst, without any apparent cause, and right in the spectator's hands. Best of all, everything can be examined!
