Perfect Clock
Viking Magic
It hardly matters if the timepiece works; it is a collector's item that sits quietly on our desk or bookcase, evoking a sense of the past and a certain vision of the future.
Remember that lovely children's song about My Grandfather's Clock? It was bought on the morn of the day that he was born, and was always his treasure and pride. But it stopped short, never to go again, when the old man died.
In performance, merely turn the clock away from the spectators and set the time. Ask a spectator to concentrate, for you will attempt to communicate silently, using only the power of the mind. You are sending, you indicate, the precise time, to the minute, that you set on the clock.
The spectator announces the thought received. The spectator then turns the clock around. The times match!
At no time after setting the clock do you touch it in any manner. No transmitters, etc. This magnificent effect is entirely self-contained.
