Here's a twist on the old Dove Pan that I really like. It starts out like a normal Dove Pan routine. Show the pan. Explain that you will attempt to bake a cake by magic. So, you break an egg into the pan. Then put in some flour. Next some sugar. Some salt and pepper. Now, to set the whole mess on fire. Look around for your matches. Reach in your pocket for a lighter. As you are fumbling around, suddenly the pan catches on fire, all by itself. To put out the fire, you slam the lid on the pan. When you remove the lid, there's a birthday cake, or two doves, or a rubber chicken, or whatever you like.
