The performer unfolds a large paper square which has a number of red hearts and blue stars printed on each side. He refolds it and makes one straight cut with his scissors then shows the pieces that were cut away. The result is that with one cut of the scissors, he has removed all of the red hearts. Then he opens up the paper and shows that what has been left behind is a delicate lacy checker board with only the blue stars. This is very effective and you get enough papers for twelve performances.
