This is a very attractive trick using colourful apparatus, with a gambling theme which naturally appeals to all spectators. In effect the performer displays four different coloured boxes or Pots. One of these, he states, has the big Jack Pot Prize in it. Three spectators are invited to participate and to win the prize.
Each calls out a different number from one to four. There is no force. The performer now removes from his pocket a small carry bag. Inside it are four different coloured tokens marked 1-2- 3- 4. The colours of the tokens match the colours of the boxes. The spectators now take the boxes selected by them. For example if the spectator picked No.2, he takes token number 2 and if this is the green token he gets the green box. The entire process is obviously fair. The last box is left for the Magician.
The Spectators now open their three boxes and they find token gifts inside. Perhaps a sweet and a slip saying "better luck next time". When the Magician opens his box, which is the only box the spectators did not select, inside is the Jack Pot Prize, for example a twenty or fifty pound note and a letter of congratulation. Remember there is no force, or tricky moves. The whole effect is very clean and straight forward and fit for performance under any conditions.
