A length of rope is cut into two, then the ends are tied together with five or six knots and given to a spectator to hold. Performer ties another length of rope to the knotted one and then suddenly ZIP ... the two ropes change places. The performer now has the rope with the knots and the spectator's rope is restored and free of knots. It happens so quickly, it seems impossible and remember the spectator never lets go of his rope.
