A thin draped tray is shown and a plastic tumbler is placed on top of it. Three differently sized and coloured metal tubes are now placed one by one over the tumbler. The performer announces that this is the famous VANISHING BEAKER TRICK which NEVER goes wrong. He removes the tubes one by one and on removing the last tube it is seen that the tumbler is stuck HALF-WAY THROUGH A TRAPDOOR IN THE TRAY.
Something has gone wrong! The performer states that he will try again - the trapdoor is closed and the three tubes are placed over the tumbler once more. A magic pass is made and when the tubes are removed the TUMBLER HAS VANISHED! The audience are not so stupid however, and demand to see under the draped tray. The drape is whipped off and it is seen that there is absolutely nothing under the tray - the tumbler really has vanished. Bear in mind all three tubes are shown CLEARLY EMPTY. This is a GREAT TRICK which is self-working and can be performed with the audience up close and surrounding you.
